Hi Renee

I'm leaving for Mexico next Thursday !!! I'll be visiting with a friend for a few days and then have surgery with Dr. Huacuz on Tuesday the 17th.

I'm soooo excited. I have done all my research and I'm very confident that this is the right place for me.

hI aNDREA, i TOO first "looked" at going to Mexico... the doctors reputations and medical facilities are awesome... PLUS a GF of mine IS a physician and SHE went to MEXICO for her Face Lift, BOOB job and eye lift.... so that's a pretty good referral if you ask me...

HOWEVER! If you go to MEX and save $$$ the TLBC Toronto Doctors will do your 'after' fills but they charge $5000 so by the time you add in airfare, Mex medical bills, + the $5000 for Cdn aftercare... its really not much of a savings... In my humble opinion.

However, you could get HUBBY to make a vacation out of it everytime you need a "fill" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

Yeah but the total process took about 4 months as we applied from Canada. Then when the cheque finally came we had to wait another 6 weeks for the bank in Canada to clear the funds from Australia

my son and i had our bands done in mexico. i would check with your local doctor first. we saved by going to mexico we both were done for 15,000 canadian we get our fills local.

The Dr in St Albert happens to be my fill Dr but he exclusively does Dr. Cobourn and Dr. Mumford's patients. Nobody elses. I just had this discussion with him and he told me his reasons which I agree with. I don't know of any other fill Dr's in the Edmonton area,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
