I was tired for at least 6 weeks, then off and on for a few more. I take 2 B12 now. At the time I was was also told to drink Poweraid Zero and even regular Gatorade.

I'm two weeks and I am not getting enough Water. I can't get it down without burping a lot. How do you get all your Water in? I miss guzzling it.

I'm glad I joined this group...the questions I had have already been asked and the answers are there. :) I find this to be a great site for answers to my problems with my gastric bypass. I'm learning a lot about it from others who have been through it and will ask questions (if they have not already been asked) if needed. I'm happy I found this group.

I had my surgery on 6/24 & I am tired all the time. I wasn't getting in enough food & Water because I had a stricture which they dilated last week- I really hope it helps! I understand how all of you feel though because it's so hard to get up for work in the mornings! My Vitamin levels were all normal at my 30 day blood work check.

Well, I took my B12 shot and the tiredness has been relieved somewhat - yea!! I still have a problem with mornings though. I wake up and sometimes have the shakes and feel really weak. Not sure why this is happening. I make sure I get all my prtein in and am keeping hydrated. I wonder if it's because I have gone 6-8 hours with no liquids??

I always wake up tired almost all the time when I know I'm getting enough sleep. I even get sleepy throughout the daytime. I sometimes need a nap during the day. Not sure why but I do. I also have Fibromyalgia which is known to cause chronic fatigue. So I'm not sure what is causing this.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago but since my surgery & weight loss I don't have all the aches & pains I used to have. I know when I get higher Protein levels & all my fluids in I feel better but then I'll have a couple days that I don't drink as much & protein lowers & I get really tired. I still don't have my energy levels that I had before surgery but my surgery was only 7 weeks ago.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
