I've had plantar fasciatis, tendinitis and nerve damage in my feet for over 10 years! I've had multiple kinds of injections, night splints, soft cast, foot braces for my shoes, medically made inserts, medical foot rub, you name it and it all helped for only a short time :( I wasn't even as heavy as I am now when I developed it however, I do have a hard labor job that now, I really can't perform, this pain has hindered me from a lot and in return, I've gained a substantial amount of weight along with bad knees and hips:(. I will look into the website for other methods, it definitely wouldn't hurt to try...... Thanks for the information :)

You sound just like me. This foot pain is such a hinderance in my life. I know it has exacerbated my already out of control weight gain. I want my life back. I have tried to continue walking and just put the pain behind me, but it is sooooo painful. So far my new dr appears to have hit the sweet spot with his cortisone shot. It has actually dulled the pain. That with my orthaheel tennys seem to be doing the trick. Keeping my fingers crossed. :-)

So, here is how I fixed my Plantar Fasciaitis. Simple fix and it worked. Not only for me but for two others at work. I tried braces but they did not help. Inserts for arch support did not help.

Get some athletic tape (Walmart has the package of 3 rolls in a box). Each morning wrap around the arch of your foot, just one wrap, starting on the inside just above your arch and wrap over top of foot and around coming back up to the top of the foot and cut the tape. You want to make sure the direction of the wrap pulls the arch in an upward direction for support I wore the tape all day and in the evening after my bath I put new tape back on. It helps to put a sock on to sleep as the tape will sometimes roll up at night.

This method actually is a very inexpensive arch support and helps to relieve the stress so your foot can heal.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
