Elode 8,093 Posted January 31, 2015 @@Rovobay Ok I was just wondering. I have BCBS federal so I guess we will see. I've been buying them all along so whatever. I'm surprised they didn't try to make you pay for the ones you got.
Ladyrider323 10 Posted February 19, 2015 Insure Nutrition is a rip off!!! I received four boxes of Premier Protein, Multivitamins, and scar cream. They billed my insurance over $7000. I am canceling them in the morning. That is ludicrous!!!!! They should be prosecuted for insurance scam/abuse.
yosipena 0 Posted March 19, 2015 Hello!! I have BCBS PPO. My insurance did cover for the shakes! My prescription CVS/Caremark covered for the chewable Vitamins and scar cream! I have yet to receive shipment on the items as they are waiting for Dr. Carmine, my surgeon to fill out a form. I am happy my insurance will be covering all of this, but this is where it gets a bit sketchy and I am giving it seconds thoughts as if this is too good to be true... Paper work is being submitted to my insurance sometime this week for the surgery, I should be getting a call next week with approval or denial. I called BCBS and Caremark myself to see if the above items will be covered and I was firmly told no. Because according to BCBS the shakes are over the counter and I can purchase them as they are not medically necessary. I did tell the rep that they are not medically necessarily now on a daily basis but that after surgery they are medically necessary, I was again told no. I read different chats in here and that is how I discovered Insure Nutrition... I applied, provided all information-this was March 12th. I got a call last night March 18th that I was approve from both BCBS and Caremark for the shakes, Vitamins and scar cream. The rep said BCBS provided 12 referrals for the shakes! Dr. Carmine the surgeon was faxed a form and once he sends it back they will be able to send me the shakes, etc.... And I was very clear I do not have a surgery date yet. Don't know how BCBS approved shakes for a surgery they have yet to approve and have no pending paper work for.... im confused... But why did insurance told me they did not cover and I was approved via Insure Nutrition? This is confusing, and scaring me- all I need is a big old bill months down the road!!! Anyone with similar experience??
