Sherrib4health 100 Posted July 31, 2014 Hi Everyone! I'm pretty new here and I believe this is my very first post! I'm due for surgery (bypass) on the 30th of September and am looking forward to this very much. What I need to know is, has anyone found any Protein and Vitamins that are Paleo friendly that are liquid (not the protein, obviously!) or chewable and don't have things like soy, any of the 'ose's (fructose, cellulose, malodextrose, etc.) and are not full of fillers, or are sweetened with aspertame, etc.? I'm having a hard time finding these things and am worried that I will have a difficult time with the standard vitamins/protein that have all the other stuff in them that I prefer not to use. Thanks for your help! I'm excited! SherriB

TEXASLADY52 264 Posted July 31, 2014 Do you have a GNC? If not you can order online. I got a liquid Vitamin for bariatrics......it was not too bad of taste....had an orange taste to it. I have also used "Teen" gummie Vitamins from Walmart....they met all of the guidelines. Check out http://www.musclegen.net/ see if this will help you with your Protein. It has really helped me. There is a video on the lower right hand side to watch.
Sherrib4health 100 Posted July 31, 2014 Thank you TexasLady. I'm hoping to find something a bit more on the natural side though. I'll still look into what you've suggested. I'm open to find the best I can!!

Wynnie 186 Posted July 31, 2014 Look into Unjury Protein powders and their affiliate opurity chewable bariatric Vitamins. They are only avail online and are very reasonably priced and the Vitamin is chewable and only once per day not 2 or 3 times a day. Good luck with your surgery 1 Sherrib4health reacted to this
Krystal0528 118 Posted August 12, 2014 I'm very interested in this thread. I am 2 months out an the only issue I am having is with Vitamins. Someone please help.. I dnt want to get sick or loose my hair! I have tried Bariatric Advantage an I have tried Celebrate, both times I have tried it made sure to put something on tummy an within 15 minutes I was throwing up:( I need a Vitamin I can keep down! So far only thing I have been able to take is the flinstone gummys, but I'm worried that it's not enough of what I need. Also if ppl are taking the flinstone Gummy are they taking anything else to? Please help... I'm trying to get in a routine an I'm having a very hard time 1 Sherrib4health reacted to this
Wynnie 186 Posted August 12, 2014 Maybe try opurity chewables They never made me feel sick, however I got to where I just couldn't chew them anymore, my taste changed so I switched to Celebrate caps but I too got sick so now I take one near the end of each meal with a sip or so of Water. It's the only way I can take them and so far they haven't made me sick when I take them in thus fashion. I hope this feedback helps.
Sherrib4health 100 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi. I've been researching healthier Vitamins and Protein. Thorne has a line of some pretty clean Vitamins as does Dr. Mercola. I need to find out if these lines are crush-able or if they are capsules that can be opened. I research everything! Also, getting enough Protein is crucial to not losing your hair. I'm still researching and will post here as I find healthier alternatives to what is currently being offered or suggested. Hope everyone has a great day! Krystal0528 118 Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks guys any input is great. In really considering the wellese liquid vitamins.. Has anyone else tried this? I have tried capsules and chewables an have had no luck. I have been on gummys. I have the Celebrate capsules an have tried an tried to take. Within 10-15 minutes if taking I got light headed an little dizzy, then throw up. It's so bad I actually dry heave due to puking everything up an nothing being left but the icky yellow stuff (I know TMI) but my hole upper body is sore after this process. I have been through twice an I'm scared to try again:( I have been great on flinstone Gummy but in afraid that I'm not getting what I need, or no if I need to take more than just that. jenn cox 34 Posted September 6, 2014 Hi sherriB I wanted to let you know that I use are Protein Powder called Bluebonnet its all natural and it is sweetened with Stevia . I have the vanilla and chocolate I like the chocolate better but the vanilla is good if its mixed with PB2. I'm starting to research Vitamins define which ones are sweetened with Stevia I can't do artificial sweeteners . If you find something in the Vitamin realm that's all natural post it for me if you wouldn't mind. I've just finished all my pre-op work and waiting on insurance approval . I'm looking at the first week in November for surgery . Good luck with your research
IronDruggist 136 Posted September 8, 2014 If the multis cause nausea, make sure you take it after you eat, or after your Protein Shake. That helped me a lot. Also, Iron can cause a lot of nausea, so unless your doc says you need it, try a multi w/o iron.
