Daniellejs30 5 Posted July 31, 2014 I am three weeks post op. I have been walking since day one and will start soft foods tomorrow. I know I need to do some strength training. Does anyone have good advice on where to start with this? Thanks for the help!
WhoKnows 288 Posted July 31, 2014 At about one month post-op I started working with a trainer. I've been lifting heavy ever since. But I should also say that I healed very clean, and when I started lifting, I had no pain or anything. My surgeon told me that after one month, I can do anything that doesn't cause pain. You should check with your surgeon for whatever she recommends.
erp 2,016 Posted July 31, 2014 I wasn't cleared until 4 weeks out and didn't start exercising until 6 weeks. Please take it easy and heal right now. I know it is exciting to lose weight and you want to lose it ASAP! Walking is plenty at 3 weeks out. After you have healed, you can accomplish a lot simply by using your own body weight. Push ups, planks, tricep dips, squats and lunges require no equipment and are highly effective. Bodybuilding.com has a great pictorial library of exercises you can do. 1 Daniellejs30 reacted to this
