Hi everyone I am new here. I had VSG surgery July 10 and I am still trying to to adjust. I want to know when can I sleep on my stomach?

Hi and congrats! I had my sleeve on July 15th. I'm not sleeping on my stomach yet although I feel like I could. I've been sleeping on my sides and it's been comfortable.

Today was my first post-op. I was just wondering how much weight you've lost so far and what your exercise and eating routine is like? My nutritionist told me today that I can stop the Protein shakes and start to eat real food. But I don't see how I'm going to eat 60g of Protein with servings being so small.

What do you do?

Hi and congratulations to you as well. I have lost 17 pounds and I am on creamy foods. I am suppose to have 50 gems of Protein and 64 oz of Water. I want to sleep on my stomach because I have a bad back but my surgeon has not given me the OK.

You can sleep on your stomach when it feels ok to do so. I am 14 days out and I can somewhat sleep on my stomach. I take a body pillow and kinda lay on my stomach over the pillow but still at just a slight angle. Getting closer.

Congrats on joining the losers bench. :-) I'm a side sleeper, it took me about a month before I could transition from sleeping propped up on my back to sleeping on either side. Never been able to sleep on my stomach.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
