Sabrina Bartley Gibson 1 Posted August 15, 2014 I had my gastric bypass on July 10,2014. I am feeling great. I suppose my biggest problems right now are fighting my own demons. I have this terrible fear of failure. I am so afraid if I eat to much I am going to stretch my pouch and gain my weight back. I am doing well right or feel like I am. I am down 33lbs so far and feeling great. I have started only allowing myself to weigh once a week in Friday's. So tomorrow is the day I see how I have done for the week and I am not feeling like I did much at all this week. I didn't realize that I would have so many fears and emotions about things after the surgery. 1 Dawnakers reacted to this
Dawnakers 40 Posted August 15, 2014 I too have the same feeling Sabrina. I always second guess myself after I eat something. Did I eat too much? Am I stretching my pouch? Am I full? I NEVER eat the entire egg, piece of fish, piece of chicken, etc. I have decided not to weigh myself everyday, as well. I have become a slave to the scale. I would weigh myself every morning and if it didn't move I would be miserable ALL day. I have decided once a week is good. I just can't put myself thru the torture :-/ Keep up the good work!! Melissa Cotton 7 Posted August 4, 2015 Any July 2014 people still here? Just wondering how everyone is doing a year later Down a little more than 100lbs. Still losing, but it's slowed a lot. I've found myself slipping with my diet now and again. Its hard getting all the protien in with out supplements, but I can't handle anything with artifical flavors anymore. Lots of fresh meat and veggies.
nelady 10 Posted August 5, 2015 July 22, 2014 here! I am down 80 lbs and still losing a little bit - just a pound here & there. I feel great, better than I have in years. I was really hesitant about doing this but with so many comorbidities, it was just the best way to help. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 12 and really enjoy shopping in the regular size clothes rather than the women's larger sizes. Best part? I will not be the overweight mother at my daughter's wedding this Saturday! Loving life!

Lots of fresh meat and veggies. That's great!!! I think most of us have slipped now and then. I know I'm guilty of it. When you are still losing, it's easy to slip. I'm with you on the Protein thing. I can't tolerate most of the protein supplements, so I have to stick to meat and dairy. I wish you continued success!!!

Not so much look better, although that's a major plus, but I feel so much better!!! I never enjoyed shopping before, now I love it! Congrats and I wish you continued success!!
