Has anyone else experienced dizzy spells or light headedness, two weeks post op?

I'm 1.5 weeks post-op, and I have. To me, it feels the way I used to get when I was hungry. I have never been a "tummy growling" person. My body gives me headaches when I'm hungry.

I've noticed the last 2 days that I'm feeling hungry again (didn't feel hungry AT ALL last week), and the corresponding headaches are back.

Yes OMG I was getting crazy dizzy all the time. They surgeon & nurse said it was because I was not drinking enough Water, and my potassium & electrolytes were low. It has gotten a lot better. I am a month out and I only get dizzy in the morning when I get out of bed.

I also experience dizziness & have since about 2nd week postop.. I was told to try upping my Water intake &i Idid, but I still get dizzy when I stand up. I am 3 mos out & had my thyroid checked. I have never had a thyroid problem until now. It's hyper & one if the signs is dizziness. I am scheduled to see an Encronoligist next week.

At just over 5 months out I still get dizzy quite a bit.

Whenever I try to stand up from a reclined or laying down position I get dizzy. Enough that my vision goes black and I have to hold onto something to stay upright. I have found that if I sit upright for 30-60 seconds before standing that this doesn't happen. I still forget at times (alarm clock, phone rings, etc...), but otherwise I can control it.

Every once in a while in the evening if I haven't had enough Fluid through the day I get a little dizzy. Not to the point I do when standing up, but still noticeable.

I also recently started one of those DVD workout programs and notice with some of the stretches and exercises, they cause the same dizzy feeling. I don't yet know exactly what/why, but whenever it comes on, I opt to skip that step and wait for the next.

@@winning_by_losing I noticed I was getting dizzy on tuesday when i was exercising too but I think it is because I was not taking deep breaths. More like rapid shallow breaths so I think that might have had something to do with it.

I get dizzy every time I bend down and stand back up, never happened before surgery. I have heard this is a common problem after wls so I have not put much thought to it, but I don't like that feeling at all, but I can live with it.

Turns out I had my thyroid checked with blood work and I have hypo-thyroid. Dizziness is one of the leading side effects among weight gain. Encronoligist gave me a pill to level my thyroid and I will have blood work again in October. FYI, thyroid levels are not checked in routine blood work unless you ask fir them to be checked.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
