smiley922 447 Posted July 30, 2014 If I make it tbrough all the hoops and approved then Dr Nguyen at North Georgia will do the procedure robotically. Anybody else?
Jenn091308 1 Posted August 2, 2014 I haven't had my surgery yet, but will be sometime during the end of August. I am using Dr. Steinberg in Decatur, GA and he is also using the robot. He said it takes about an hour to complete. 1 smiley922 reacted to this
smiley922 447 Posted August 2, 2014 Are you having it done at Emory, I heard they were also doing it there now.
derin 1 Posted August 2, 2014 I had this done June 23 by Dr. Christopher Hart at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. I have had zero complications so far. Dr. Hart is extremely conscious during surgery. His staff is amazing! Can't say enough praise for the whole experience.
Amyllf2 206 Posted August 2, 2014 I had gall bladder done with the robot and it was a great process. I wish I had the option for my RNY. It wasn't bad, but one incision was great!

smiley922 447 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) I had my surgery done like that in May. I ended up with big time complications and was in the hospital three weeks. Can I ask what the complications were and where did you have procedure? How are you now? Edited August 4, 2014 by smiley922
bapzz34 5 Posted August 5, 2014 I had my surgery done like that in May. I ended up with big time complications and was in the hospital three weeks. Can I ask what the complications were and where did you have procedure? How are you now? I ended up in surgery for 8 hours because the staples would not stay closed in my new pouch. Finally my dr had to sew it together. After that I ended up with a leak and had to get a stint place to allow the leak to close. Took almost two months but as of now I'm ok. I started out almost 300 pounds and now I'm at 220. Had my surgery may 12th of this year.
Jennifer R 1 Posted August 11, 2014 My surgery was done roboticly, no complications and essentially no pain (other than gas pains). I didn't even have any bruising so I highly recommend choosing a surgeon that does it that way.

Beni 1,484 Posted September 13, 2014 Wow, I am so glad you are okay. That's kind of a fluke, right? Did your doctor explain why the staples wouldn't hold? The good news is you don't have a bunch of titanium staples on your pouch.
