p-ruck21 8 Posted July 30, 2014 Ok so I am getting so irritated. I hag surgery June 23. I lost 20 lbs before. And in my first couple weeks after surgery I lost another 20. But for the past couple weeks I've lost nothing.....nothing. I'm getting a lot of Protein, and enough calories! What the heck is happening? I feel like almost 3 weeks of nothing is a long freakin time. Anyone else have this problem?
ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) almost 3 weeks of nothing Anyone else have this problem? @@p-ruck21 LOL some/many/MOST of us go through "these" stalls!!!!! especially what is commonly called the "3 week stall" people that stall sometimes shake things up a bit - calories, Protein, drinking but........who knows if the above helped - or your stall finally broke on its own?? doesn't really matter - stalls as well as shitttt happens too you are using/wasting a lot of energy over something you can't control you are doing wonderful protein, calories - perfect make sure you drink so much it comes out of your ears, or "somewhere" else as times goes by, and "if"you reach another stall make sure to take your measurements sometimes you will lose inches - (not weight) its great to see those inches disappear, weight will/must eventually follow pre-op & post op down 20 lbs keep up the great work good luck kathy congrats Edited July 30, 2014 by proudgrammy 1 IdaliaMay reacted to this
Texasmeg 568 Posted July 30, 2014 Absolutely I have gone through this before. Recently, I started working with a trainer (strength trainin) and haven't lost much for two weeks. However, with their fancy piso-electric scale, I learned that I had added 4 lbs of muscle and lost 4 lbs of fat! As one member said, after a loss sometimes your body just needs to rearrange itself. Texasmeg 568 Posted July 30, 2014 Also - the 3 week stall is notorious on this site - nearly everyone goes through it. Just hang in there and keep following directions from your NUT and do tor.
Comeflywithme 402 Posted July 30, 2014 Yup the stalls..... no worries, been there, done that! Totally normal and you just wait --in a couple of days the pounds will start melting off and you'll be amazed. Just be patient... it gets soooo much better!! squeaker31 65 Posted July 30, 2014 I feel your pain! I saw people posting about stalling for several days .... I was stalled starting at the three week mark ... For five weeks not a pound lost. It did break! Lost about six pounds in one week finally then 2 - 4 pounds per week for a good clip of time. I had been tracking using MFP and I was second guessing everything! But I didn't really do anything to break the stall. I was at a moderate activity level and following my NUT guidelines. I agree with others your body needs to adjust itself. We put it through a lot with surgery!
BitterSweet* 835 Posted July 30, 2014 If you insist on getting on the scale to check your weight - everytime it hasn't gone down, rejoice; especially if you're doing what you're supposed to do. The slower it comes off and you are actively exercising (especially weight training) the less hanging skin you'll have. In the end you'll be much happier with your overall appearance. squeaker31 65 Posted August 1, 2014 When did you have surgery? And how much have you lost now? If you don't mind me asking. I had my surgery April 7th. I have lost a total of 67 pounds. Roughly I lost 30 pounds in the first few weeks, then stalled for 5 weeks through May. So through June and July I have lost about 37 pounds. I don't know if it's a "good" pace or not but my weight has gone consistently down each week, with the exception of my period weeks sometimes it will only go down 1lb or 0. (Also to note, my starting weight was 310 and I'm 5'4''. My official "excess" weight was about 160 pounds I think. So "lbs" lost vs % lost ... I don't think my pace is as good as others with as much as I have to lose. But I haven't tried to compare a whole lot, I'm happy with the down direction lol). I'm down 43 now...but I'm just looking forward to losing more (: Also....how much are you eating? Sometimes I feel like I eat more than I should. Sometimes I eat a little bit and I feel full fast. And sometimes I eat more And I don't get that feeling. What's a lot? Like how many ounces do they say we should eat at a time?
