Wallflower7522 328 Posted July 30, 2014 My friend is going through the process, she just started. The thing is, she didn't have health issuance until recently. She can prove she has been over weight for 5+ years, that's she's tried to diet ECT...but she doesn't have 5 years of weigh-ins. Anyone know what will happen in this situation? Crosby 303 Posted July 30, 2014 She needs to talk to the financial person at her surgeons office. I had questions regarding my need for 2 years of weigh ins. I could not get straight answer from my insurance co but the billing person at my doctors knew right away. They are the ones who deal with the insurance requirements on a daily basis. Remember that insurance companies vary so you may get a variety of responses. For my company they accept weights from any medical person. This includes any doctor or hospital or testing center where one may have to weigh in. They also took official Weight Waters records. 1 Angelkeeper4 reacted to this
Angelkeeper4 69 Posted July 30, 2014 I was in a similar situation with 12 years of no insurance. I spoke with the Bariatric coordinator and luckily with my surgeon/ insurance it wasn't an issue. (Horizon NJHealth)
Wallflower7522 328 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the info. She tried to get it from our surgeons office, but they've been going through staffing changes and are very unorganized. It would be unbelievably annoying if they weren't suck great surgeons. Edited July 31, 2014 by Wallflower7522
