Personal trainer

Recommended Posts

I started back to the gym this week and had my first session with my personal trainer today. Thinks went really well. We are set to meet weekly at least through the end of the year. Looking forward to my next session.

Since I rarely go out to restaurants anymore, I'm able to afford the trainer! That's a win win!!

I'd love to avoid plastics, but despite my intense workouts and heavy weight training, I still see loose skin coming on my upper arms and inner thighs. I'm cautiously optimistic about my stomach though. We'll see...

Weight training and exercise will help fill out the loose skin, but won't do anything truly about the skin itself. Genetics is a huge part and time helps (mine is much less than it used to be). But the more you lost and the longer you were overweight the more the elasticity will be gone and there is nothing to bring that back.

I lost most of my weight and yet my knees still hurt so much that I had trouble climbing stairs. I met a trainer who convinced me he could help me fix that and he did!

He started me off doing assisted squats and now I'm squatting with a 60 lb weight on my back and lunging with 20 lbs - no pain!!!

It was worth every penny for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
