Drove 2.5 Hours and FillUSA called to cancel

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone out there from Oregon, who has went to Mexico for their lapband? I am looking for a place to get my fills. I have not been banded yet, that is on tuesday!!! Anyways I have heard that it is hard to find U.S. Dr.s that will do a fill for patients from mexico. Any one have any references, they would be greatly appreciated.

I go to Dr. Fitzpatrick in Oregon. She has 2 offices. One right near Portland and the other is near Salem ( I think) I was banded in TJ by Doctor Ortiz and he recommended her. She is fantastic, takes lots of time to talk with you. No flora but that has not been a problem for me at all.

If you want a phone number you can PM me and I'll give it to you, or go to Home for her website. She is fantastic.

I was very lucky, I had surgery in mexico but a dr in new orleans only charges 180.00 a fill, no other costs. there are a lot of doctors in this area that take pts from mexican surgeons

I just wanted to comment about my experience w/the Roswell location yesterday. I had a great experience. Darlene and the rest of the staff were very nice and put me right at ease. I hate they are so far away from me.

For anyone else that's going, the e-mail from fillcentersusa said the fluro had to be paid w/cash or check. They were actually taking credit cards for everything..

Darlene ROCKS! :huggie: After reading some of the horror stories I just knew there couldn't be anyone who filled as well as Dr. Romero with Dr. Ortiz's office. Except for the lack of facial hair, Darlene is just as good :) Very nice, very professional, tiny little pinch, talked about how much of a wimp I am after the 1 overfill, etc.

Not to mention the trip was 1.5 hours each way instead of taking 48 hours, lol. Plus when I go "into town" I can get a ton of other stuff done too.

If anyone's around the GA area (there was someone from Mississippi and Kentucky today), Darlene gets an A+ :)

This will be the FillCentersUSA test! I have been banded since November 2003. I have never had restriction...EVER...lost NO WEIGHT in 4 years! I have an appointment with Darlene next weekend! If she can do it (after 6 different fills in the past with NO results)...I will praise her and praise her!

I will post back next week!

WISH ME MUCH LUCK :clap2:

Darlene with watch the Fluro to see if it gathers in the pouch instead of going straight through. TBH, mine went straight through but as I mentioned, I am a wimp after my overfill. In all fairness, I could use some more.

Are you going to Roswell or Moultrie and which weekend?

I will be going to Moultrie September 1st! THIS SATURDAY!!! I have all of my fills (except my very first one) under fluro...so, I am very glad that she does it that way!

I live about 45 minutes from Moultrie!

Oh bummer - thought I'd run into you ;) So far, Darlene was 100% right - this isn't enough fill. I was 20 pounds heavier with the 1.5 that was too much so I guess it DOES make a difference. Though at the rate I can go, I'll be 20 heavier when she gets back to Roswell

Best of luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
