How much time off of work?

I took almost 3 weeks off.

I am also a nurse, and do pediatric home health. At work I have to haul a portable ventilator, oxygen tank and a 6 y.o. on the school bus and at kindergarten. I do 12 hour shifts.

I really don't want to miss more than a couple of weeks at work, but I am not sure it is possible to go back and not have to lift 50 + lbs often.

How long does it take before energy returns and you can lift things safely?

My surgery is 4/16.

I had my surgery Thursday, September 25th. I was back at work on Monday and did perfectly fine.
