Underwear that stay put?

Recommended Posts

Good evening everyone. I don't have anyone to ask who would understand this question. I need new undies an I am tired of buying packs of underwear only to try one pair and find out they don't stay on! My first problem is I have no butt whatsoever and the girth of my hips and abdomen are sticking out past my behind. The major problem is my underwear don't stay up. They manage to roll down as I am walking and REALLY create a problem when I am wearing a skirt (really pleasant visual image, I am sure ;) ). I am also on a tight budget and am in the pre-op process, so I don't want to put out much money and they don't need to be of the highest quality since I don't plan on keeping them forever. What works for you? Oh and I need a fuller coverage so no thongs! ;) I work too hard to keep my undies out of my butt crack! Thanks in advance for sharing your experience! OH, and how do you choose the right size?

If you buy Hanes or fruit of the Loom isn't there a size chart on the package? Measure your waist and hips to see what size the package recommends.

I find that cotton stretch underwear are very comfortable, stay in place and don't ride up.

Hi! I have undie troubles too - for me, it's mostly that my belly is disproportionately larger than my hips / legs, so the legs always stretch out and leave a gap. Seriously awkward! Anyway, I discovered vassarette boy shorts at Wal-Mart a few weeks go. I'm in a 22/24/26 jeans depending on how they're cut, and the 3x fits perfectly - no gaps or weirdness and the legs stay put without pinching. They say "light control", but I didn't notice any control - they just fit. Under $4 online, but I found them in the store for ~$2.50

Try Avenue's solid seamless briefs. They are spandex so they stay on really well. Even the ones I have that are a few sizes too big stay put when I need them to.

I like to get undies with spandex in them as opposed to all cotton. All cotton seem to lose their shape and roll down over your gut. Ugh. But a little spandex goes a long way to shape retention and keeping the undies up where they belong.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
