I too am still having gas but it hasn't been terribly bad. Not getting much in before I feel tightness. Aiming for a few ounces every hour, but I'm not stressing about it at this point. I am on clears until Sunday, so it's just been Jello, crystal light, Isopure and broth. Pain meds have made a big difference in my level of comfort. I've been trying to use sparingly though.

Hope everyone still in the hospital will make it home soon!

So Decaf coffee made me sick. At least I won't be tempted to have a regular one soon.

I had mine the 3rd just waiting to get discharged from the hospital now. I have had the hiccups bad the last two days but other than that everything has been going very well. Pain is under control and just sore at the incision sites. I hope everyone else is doing well.

I'm home today and it feels so good to be out of the hospital! I still have gas - nurses let me sip Mylanta before I left but said No to Gas X strips or pills. The nurses have said the gas should be gone in a few days and I agree with what some of you said - if I can get rid of the gas, I think I'd feel pretty good!

Having an Ispure right now, planning on a sugar free popsicle later.

Is anyone itchy? I'm itchy all over, near incision sites and on my arms too.

We are all past the worst part (I hope!!), so let's get it done and hopefully enjoy the movement of the scale!

I had itchness on face and arms. I think it was because of the baf reaction i had to diluated. If i can get all of this gas out of my system, i would feel sore but okay! Im taking small sipes of crystal light but no Protein Shakes right now. I just want to stay hydrated.

Has anyone experienced a slight cough/throat itchiness about 3 days post op? I am using my spirometer, but I'm prone to bronchitis/pneumonia so just a little worried.

I've had a bit of productive coughing.

@@Wisdom2KnowTheDifference I had a productive cough too - I think it's normal because some Fluid is built up from lying down so much. Didn't have a sore throat though. If you can cough and get stuff up, do it. It killed me but I put a pillow on my stomach and did it.

I am trying to stay off the pain meds during the day -- I @@SOVANNA, I am the same as you. If I could rid of this gas I think I'd be fine (sore but bearable pain). I keep walking and it doesn't seem to do anything.

I am 3/4 through a Premier shake that I started at 7:30. The nurse and NUT said the first few days home we should just focus on getting 48 ounces of Fluid in. I'm hoping to do 2 Protein shakes today but who knows.

Felt so good to be home and sleep in a comfortable bed last night - we all seem to be doing pretty well. I'm counting on what others have said - each day it gets a little better . . .

Also is anyone experiencing a strange sensation in your stomach after you sip on Fluid? I pray that the feeling will be unnoticable in the future!

Yes but it's going down. I also found it is better if the Fluid is not cold.

Day 2 home. I felt good when I woke up this morning. Trying to drink a lot more today. Gas pains are not that bad. I went to the grocery store. Very tired when I got back. So I am resting. Drank some Protein. And drinking Water. Hopefully it gets better everyday. Good luck to everyone.

So, I think I'm feeling hunger which is unexpected. Does anyone else have hunger? I moved on to full liquids from clears last night. I do think the added substance of the full liquids has been helpful, but I still feel some hunger. Maybe its because i'm not getting all of my fluids and Protein in. Today I'm going to focus on getting as close to my Protein and Fluid goals as possible. Also, feeling tired today. <sigh>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
