Scale not moving, but......

Recommended Posts

I'm down another pants size. It's hard for me to believe it -- same brand of Lee long jeans. I was tight in 18s at the time if surgery, thrilled to go dow to 16 then 14 then 12 and now.....wait for it....10! Ten? Who is this? Meanwhile, scale is not budging. Who cares -- I wear size ten jeans?!!!!

Congrats on the pants size. It's quite possible the scale isn't moving if you work out...you know muscle weighs more than fat. Anyway nice job!

Bandista..... You know I've been following you and your progress since I came on this site. We have sooooo much in common. I wanted you to know that I bought eight dresses this week, three of them were maxi's. All of them were a size 12. I haven't bought a dress in over 20 years. My husband has a sort of new wife. He's doing well too..... Down to a size 38 pant for him. We're going to have a heck of a 26th anniversary in two weeks. Hotel reservations in downtown New Orleans, the Red Dress Run with our two 20something year old daughters, a shared dinner at Commander's Palace, and lots of new clothes to wear for both of us. Keep it up, Bandista.......And thanks for all of the encouragement and positive vibes you keep putting out there!

What the hay is that ?!!!!) you should try Old Navy jeans. Their skinny jeans fit me real well, I love the "Flirty " ! They fit me to a T ! Congrats again !! Keep it up ! !!

Awesome Job! I just went through some boxes of clothes this weekend, you know the ones that you will lose weight to fit into. Well guess what I fit into them, size 14. It has been years since I have seen a 14. Also my weight is not moving either, but something is working. Keep up the great work!

The Red Dress Run is an annual 5K BAR HOPPING "RUN" through the French Quarter, where everyone, including the men, wear RED DRESSES. The older and funkier the dresses, the better. Lots of alcohol, but that's par for the course when you live in THE BIG EASY!!!!!!!!! I bought a CUTE red summer dress bc I intend to wear it again. My husband's dress is a THRIFT STORE MARKDOWN. LOL

@@HealthyNewMe that sounds like an absolute blast! There's a high heel drag race in DC that is along the same lines -- mostly drag queens in unbelievable costumes running.....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
