ChristyAZ 87 Posted July 27, 2014 I am 2.5 weeks out (pre op) and it's starting to get very real, real quick! Success will be ours as long as we follow the food plans, exercise both our bodies and our minds and always remember what it was like for us before we fought so hard for the gift we have been blessed with ..... this tool to begin anew and have a future of healthy living! Good luck to you! 4 labwalker, lovingdavid, lorijo1967 and 1 other reacted to this

Lady VS 1,147 Posted July 27, 2014 You'll be just fine as long as you follow your bariatric team's orders. Best wishes to you. 2 Bandista and lorijo1967 reacted to this
pink dahlia 2,513 Posted July 27, 2014 Honestly, I've had a root canal that was more painful , and took me longer to bounce back ! And it was an easy root canal ! I was home 5 hrs after checking into the hospital for lap band . First 2 days I rested and walked and took my pain meds, 3rd day I did'nt even need them anymore, walked very slowly around the house. Went back to work 1 week after surgery. Easy. Listen to your Dr.s orders, you'll be fine. Good luck! !! 3 lorijo1967, Bandista and labwalker reacted to this
labwalker 1,177 Posted July 27, 2014 I found the worst part of the whole ordeal was following the liquid diet! The pain (at least in my case, and everyone is different) was very tolerable. I wanted to go home as soon as I woke up in post op, LOL. The time between getting approved for surgery, and the date for the surgery, can seem like an eternity! It didn't come to soon. 2 Bandista and lorijo1967 reacted to this

I think the majority of us Banders were apprehensive at first. 18 months later and all the worrying and nerves were for nothing. I'm happy I did it. I'm not a fast loser but slow and steady wins the race so don't worry and best of luck to you! 2 Bandista and lorijo1967 reacted to this
Bandista 7,466 Posted July 28, 2014 It's normal to feel anxious prior to any surgery. I think a positive attitude and good sense of humor go a long way. Like others, I was surprised how easy it was. I am 52 and had never been an overnight patient in a hospital before. To this day, I would rather get another Lapband then go for dentistry. And I only have one root canal and crown! 1 lorijo1967 reacted to this
