I really enjoyed Egg Drop Soup. Ooooh, and Malt-O-Meal! YUMMMM!

Mushroom Soup. Cottage cheese. tuna with light mayo. Egg in microwave with sprinkled cheese. Soft soy Beans mashed with fork. I stayed away from refried Beans made me feel icky and way to full. Egg Drop soup was a staple too.

Did you have regular Campbell's mushroom soup, or a low fat version? I love mushroom soup! My post op,appt is tomorrow & I am looking forward to the "full liquids" stage. I unfortunately do not like yogurt, cream of wheat & pudding...so it will be 2 weeks of soup for me!

Anyone else having a problem with eggs?? Had surgery July 15th. 1st time I tried a scrambled egg, didn't keep it down. Second time, it was painful. Keeping it simple, but everything else seems okay.

We tried a soft scrambled egg about 4 weeks, no problem. Try again in a couple week. I love yogurt for Breakfast.

Basically boil chicken broth and swirl in beaten eggs as it's boiling. Add about a tbs of corn starch with a couple tablespoons of soy sauce in a bowl. Dump that into the Soup part and cook for a couple minutes. Garnish with some green onion. It's pretty good.

I tried scrambled with cheese today. I didn't keep it all down either. I think I'll skip it for a while. Or maybe it was the type of cheese. I tried to cut the portion in half but that didn't help either.

The Greek yogurt went down very nicely. The brand I'm using comes in vanilla flavor and it's pretty darn good. 4oz = 10 gm Protein which is awesome.

Everything on purees made me crabby and miserable and I was happy it was only one week long on my plan. I'm super picky though.

Hi everyone..when you mention refried beans.. Are you talking about canned? Or are you making your own...and in that case does anyone have a good recipe?

Keep it simple. Refried heated from the can is delish. Top with Laughing Cow cheese, or taco sauce. Later on make your own Beans from dried or canned. Cook with FF chicken broth, celery, onion, bell pepper, season any way you cant. Love lowfat chili cooked with beans and ground turkey. Thank goodness I can tolerate spicy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
