madwife2002 110 Posted July 26, 2014 I bought a bike and started riding for exercise, boy it is hard work but it is also enjoyable. I hope that it does get easier in time! I have a very busy erratic life. My surgeon told me no matter how horrible, or long my day is I have to get home and go exercise So I force myself to either go walking or ride my bike Those who use the bike for exercise can you tell me how long it is before it gets easier LOL
LadyPullings 94 Posted July 26, 2014 Bike riding is sooo fun and refreshing!!! I'm in southern Cali so we take the kids bike riding on the beach and the trail connects 2 most of the beaches! After riding so far I would say okay this is far enough and everyone would say well see ya later bcuz we are going further lol!! I enjoy it though! Congrats and good luck!!! 1 madwife2002 reacted to this
Pepper Paul 143 Posted July 29, 2014 The more you do it, the easier it gets. That combined with the fact that you'll be pushing less weight as time goes by, and it will get exponentially easier the longer from surgery you get. I starred riding before my surgery, and it was tough at 360 pounds. I started again about a month after surgery. I was sleeved a year ago March. I have ridden 1200 miles so far this year. Just keep with it, and within a few weeks to a month it will start getting a lot easier. Good job!
IcanMakeit 1,318 Posted July 29, 2014 I've been riding for almost two months now. At first, it was really tough. I had to get off and push the bike up even small hills. But now, although I'm a lot slower going uphill than down, I no longer have to get off and push. Keep at it. It definitely gets easier the more you do it.
