Wndyyy 3 Posted July 26, 2014 I still have about 4 more months before surgery but I hear about people having an issue with chocking , I have a big fear of chocking , how does the sleeve cause this?
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted July 26, 2014 I haven't choked at all. Maybe people who take too big of bites or don't chew well enough when they are transitioning back to solids have a hard time with this? But if you are careful I can't imagine it being a problem? You probably want to ask your surgeon about it to be sure.
LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted July 26, 2014 I had one problem because at 4 weeks after surgery I did not chew a small piece of chicken enough. The bit of chicken seemed to lodge mid chest but passed in moments. Just scared me to death. My husband still eats very slow but I still have a problem slowing down enough. You will not have any problem if you eat slowly and chew well. Good luck! 2 pik and Wndyyy reacted to this
