Bob2013 326 Posted July 25, 2014 Try finding some support groups. Here in Florida we have them all over. Talking with others in the same situation can really help/ 1 maxcimax reacted to this
boccob81 244 Posted July 25, 2014 I have up sodas in 97 omg it was tuff took 6 months for the craving to stop now I don't think about at all . Sugar is the tuff one I treat cravings like drug with drawls but if you fight it and force change of food choice I think we can over come it but if we give in to taste it we will walk down the road of self destruction . That's why I like the sleeve I am hoping it will help in eliminating the sugar .
Laura1014 28 Posted July 25, 2014 I am 24 days post 'll sleeve. At night around 9:45-11pm I have to fight with myself to not have anything, soda is destructive choice, if u must; then buy the Water with bubbly flavours with 0 calories, like Sparkling Ice, or Perrier lemon. Your brain triggers all these carbs because of prior consumption. I understand you, I am struggling daily, my weightloss has been slow. Started at 186 pre-Op, now 172 15 pound weightloss..very slow weightloss. Hang in there!
maxcimax 220 Posted July 25, 2014 I'm lucky. I love chocolate but I didn't crave it after surgery. They say some of us have changes in our taste buds. I believe that because for a while I couldn't get enough salt. Even that has gotten better. They also say if you can stay away from sweets for 30 days you will break the habit. I'm not a soda drinker so I haven't had that issue. I don't drink enough Water so for me that is an issue. Good luck with your journey. Do find a support group. We have 3 of them here in Dallas that I know of & I go to one of them. Such a big help. The one I just started going to also has a clothes swap. Great idea. AllisonKara 46 Posted July 25, 2014 Please be careful as to what you are eating post your surgery. You have worked hard to get where you are now therefore enjoy the weight loss and a new you .Do not give in to your cravings as that is only a self destruct path. You will not gain from it instead it will put you in more trouble. 1 boccob81 reacted to this
