You are probably right - - I don't know what's it's like to loose 100 pounds. I am anxiously awaiting that day. Let me ask, does exercise and toning not help? Just curious, not trying to be rude or cruel.

I began exercising within 1 month of my surgery. For the past year I have been pretty hardcore. Working out 5-7 times a week for about 2 hours. (1 hr weigh training/1 hour cardio). Loose skin was always a fear of mine, and I wanted to do what I could to avoid it at all costs.

I hoped that because I had always been a very athletic person (3 sport athlete in HS/college) , because I was at the lower end of the obesity spectrum, and because I was still pretty young, that my skin would be rather resilient.

I do have loose skin. I have it in my arms, stomach, buttocks, and upper thighs, but it is not as excessive as others that I have seen. To look at me clothed, you probably wouldn't know. My arms and legs actually appear toned (until I have to move them, lol).

So does exercise and toning help with loose skin? I'm sure it does, but only to a certain extent. Who knows how much additional skin I would have right now if I dieted without exercise this past year.

Don't get me wrong. I am thrilled to have lost the weight I have. But it has definitely been bittersweet when the idealistic must confront the reality (especially if $$$ prevents you from getting plastic surgery) :)

Yes, I feel really good in a size 18 now but all I see is my droopy stomach. I try not to look too much because I am not at goal to get a TT. You may want to try some therapy and visualization techniques. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
