AggieGal08 9 Posted July 24, 2014 So I'll admit, I wasn't the best at logging my intake after surgery. It wasn't until I stalled where I started tracking. It's chocking how calories add up. If anyone is in the same boat or doesn't know- my fitness pal is a free ap that let's you VERY EASILY log all your food and Water. 1 Pookeyism reacted to this
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted July 24, 2014 I use fitness pal in addition to a food log - or if I get lazy I will print my food log on a label and stick it in my food journal Feel free to add me, btw "Pookeyism"

squeaker31 65 Posted July 25, 2014 I was tracking pretty consistently post-op. My GOAL is to not feel I have to track all the time, so I just feel comfortable and confident in my choices. But the last few weeks I have not tracked and I see my progress has slowed. "Checking in" with my fitness pal will probably always be a part of my success to make sure I'm being real with myself. I'm squeaker31 on MFP as well.

I eat so many things so regularly that i pretty much know ky daily intake but i track. It keeps my honest. I do my exercise on there too. Since i have tracked i see where i am doing good and when i stall i can look back to see where i may be going wrong whether with my food or exercise. I was in a 4 wk stall and hadnt it been for my tracking i wouldnt have known it was from eatting too few calories. I was only taking in 800-900 daily 6 months post. I raised to 1200 per my NUT and within days i started losing again! Just with my exercise reginmen and activity i was starting to hoard fat cuz i was taking in too little for so much activity. I love the site. If anyone wants to pal up my handle is kimba6988. Good luck to all.

kimba6999 125 Posted July 25, 2014 Apparently we need to be Facebook friends or i need your email to requst to be friends. Didnt know that. My FB name is Kim Adams and my email is kimba6988@yahoo.com. i think it is super easy to use. Go to add to diary and pick ur meal and then typ in what u are looking for. If you have a brand name.it works even better. Then pick ur portion amd add to it. You can also track ur weight and see ur nutritional info for the day. You can.post whats on ur mind and see how ur friends are doing. Let me know what u need help with and i will try

alxmak1021 15 Posted July 26, 2014 My doctor recently told me to up my calories as well to at least 1000-1200. I feel like I am having a hard time with this. How do you add calories with out adding more fat and carbs? Any ideas or suggestions? What percentages does everyone have there daily nutrition totals too? I don't worry about healthy fats so adding calories is like a handful of nuts or some no sugar added Peanut Butter or avocado. Or it could be mixing my Protein with milk instead of Water or using dairy with some fat instead of skim or adding olive oil to my veggies.

Calories I am well within range but even choosing lean meats and cheeses my fat tends to go over 45-50. I do eat some nuts as well. But I eat so low carb I don't know how much to worry about it. My percentage goals are 40 carb 30 fat 30 Protein. I a goal of 950 calories that was closest to what my NUT said. 40g fat and 71g protein. The carbs limits at that % are over 100 but I don't really use that goal.
