Special K Protein Water? Fiber?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if Special K Protein Water enhancers are okay to drink? It has 6 grams of protein and 5 grams of Fiber. If it is not okay, does anyone know a similar product that can add flavor and protein but not the thickness of shakes?

I don't know anything about Special K Protein Water (just watch the sugar, I know their shakes are loaded) but when I was first post op (and even now) I liked/like drinking Isoure Protein Water. It is similar to Gatorade in the sense that it comes in different flavors and the taste is similar but it is high protein, low sugar. I actually will drink 1/2 a bottle a day and cut it w/ G2 (half Isopure and 1/2 G2). Good luck!

They are OK to drink, but really not much Protein. Syntrax Nectar has a whole line of flavors with a water/juice consistency instead of a thick shake. 23g protein per scoop. I add my own fiber supplement to my Protein Drinks.< /p>

I drink muscle milk light . Eat a can of tuna . And refried Beans from Taco Bell . Some times string cheese . I am still in the soft foods stage. . I discovers baby bell cheese lights 50 cal .. I will indulge in a sugar free Popsicle or fudgesicle . Cottage cheese 2 -3 spoon full apple sauce and sugar free pudding and Jello .

I use the Syntrax nectar. It is so much thinner than the regular Protein shakes. Here is the web site I order mine from. Also you can get 20.00 off your first order. https://www.bariatricchoice.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/113961/

They are all thinner like tea and lemonade. I like the fuzzy navel, Roadside Lemonade, chocolate truffle, and Cappuccino. I sometimes add crystal lite lemonade to the roadside lemonade. Then I mix the cappuccino with Decaf coffee and little skim milk. I have also mixed the chocolate truffle with decaf coffee and skim milk. These are my favorite flavors and gives me enough of a variety that I don't get bored with them. I did just order the lemon tea flavor. I have a friend that loves it. Hopes this helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
