Not sure what is us... I'm 2 weeks out and I get the same thing...however, it gets better. It was worse at first. It's better now...

Has to be gas....i woke up with them this morning..I've been laying in a recliner since the surgery..i find it more relaxing. Anyway....i am having the pains right now and haven't even had any Water yet....ughhhh it's Awefule...how long does it take to go away?

My surgery was yesterday and this has happened to me since my first post-op ice chip in the hospital. I'm home now, and it makes it very difficult to drink anything. At this rate, I'll be lucky to get in 4oz of anything.

You guys don't really have to wonder anymore (unless your pain is awful.) As you suspected, it is gas. Not comfortable at all. Walk a lot and take medication for heartburn. This helped me drastically. :)

I had hiatal hernia repair also, and my surgeon's office said this morning that it is spasms. Not much we can do about it, but like everyone has said, they will eventually go away.
