kissawookiee 2 Posted July 24, 2014 My surgery was yesterday and this has happened to me since my first post-op ice chip in the hospital. I'm home now, and it makes it very difficult to drink anything. At this rate, I'll be lucky to get in 4oz of anything.

Heather_Feather 24 Posted July 24, 2014 You guys don't really have to wonder anymore (unless your pain is awful.) As you suspected, it is gas. Not comfortable at all. Walk a lot and take medication for heartburn. This helped me drastically.
kissawookiee 2 Posted July 24, 2014 I had hiatal hernia repair also, and my surgeon's office said this morning that it is spasms. Not much we can do about it, but like everyone has said, they will eventually go away.
