Am four weeks post op. Most of the time I feel fine, sometimes even better than pre-surgery due to carrying less weight around. But maybe once a week(like tonight) I come home from work and more or less collapse fully dressed on top of the bedspread. I have to force myself to get up and put on my pjs so I can just sleep, sleep, sleep.

I'm wondering if this is fairly typical, and if so, how long will I be dealing with it?

I also get sleepy at work, though not every day, and have yawning spells to beat the band.

Fezik-- I feel the same way. I'm 5 weeks out today. I went back to work Monday and have been struggling to stay alert and focused. I feel like everything at work takes me twice as long because I'm fighting being tired all day long.

Yes. You are losing rapid weight and your frame has to get used to it. Add in some walking and don't try and keep up with others on the forum, it will run you ragged. The walking will give you more energy believe it or not. Good Luck!

It is completely normal. Especially on a low carb diet. Carbs are the bodies main source of energy, and you're lacking those essential energy carbs with your new diet. At four weeks I would get my carbs from bananas (it would take all day to eat a small one well mashed, but nevertheless...), Greek light n fit yogurt, a couple of spoonfuls of mashed sweet potato (lightly mixed with unflavored Protein powder), etc. All of these (except the Greek yogurt) have natural sugars and good, complex carbs that are great for your body and sustaining energy.

HI there.

At 4 weeks, you're body is still recovering - I felt tired at times up to about 12 weeks. It wasn't every day and my energy level was certainly better than before surgery.

Let your body heal - rest when your body tells you to rest. You'll enjoy the days where you have a lot of energy!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
