Surgery on Monday!

Recommended Posts

I'm excited and scared. It's taken me awhile to get to this point, so I think I have everything I'll need for the next week or so. Any last words of advice?

One thing that I didn't find on any on list was a body pillow for in bed!! I didn't have one the first night and that was bad. I sleep on my left side and that is right where my post is! I hurt to sleep on that side! Just rember that walking helps alot!! I did alot of laps in my bedroom!!

Everything will be fine. Just think it 's going to be day one of a new you, a healthier you. A body pillow helps and wearing the support helped. Let the docs know to be prepared if you typically have nausea after surgery. Phenegran is the key. Good luck and enjoy the day and the journey!

I will be thinking about you tomorrow! I remember how nervous and excited I was the day before.....but I was suddenly calm the day of surgery. We will save some room for you here on the loser's bench!

Hi Sue and JerseyShore!

I'm a Monday bandster too.

The pre-op diet is a biaaatch (I know it's worth it, but I can't believe how many people do this surgery and are able to function before the procedure!).

Best of luck to you and I'll look for you post-band :smile2:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
