Wow, you're so close!

I'm not a preop dieter yet with 8 or so weeks until my surgery date. It feels like I should be dieting or something though. Feels kinda weird not having anything do to but wait

Best of luck to you!

Yup - I remember being in that position of just waiting....:notagree

What helped me was becoming active here on the boards and reading and learning all I could to have realistic expectations of what was to come.

Don't worry the time will pass and before you know it you will be on the pre op diet as well!

Good for you! It always boosts my self esteem to see that scale go down. Now I am hoping once I am banded it will stay there!

On the bright side, I have driving lessons on Monday :)

I'm am on my 4th day of Optifast. It's going pretty good. Had a bad headache to start out with that seems to be subsiding now. I'm getting very excited about the surgery, just want to get it done so I can get on with it. I have read so much about banding that I really, really, really want to live it. I'm sooooooo ready!

I've noticed in the last couple of days that I feel released by food. I feel like it no longer has me in it's control. Great feeling!!

:)

i started diet april 24th...so that means i'm day 5. I've been fasting for the past 4 days, because i find it easier to not eat than eat another bite of yogurt or cottage cheese. I am SO hungry, i could eat anything, i'm basically sleeping to not be hungry...cant wait to be banded!!!!!!

It is very important to maintain your regular pattern of eating. Remember you are trying to start a healthy way of eating post banding.

I lived on the yoghurt and Jello because I couldn't look at the CC. Eat 3, 4 or 5 yoghurt for each meal if you want. snack with the jello. If you really need it you can have some boiled or baked chicken. You must eat though. After all this time you don't want them to cancel your surgery do you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
