denicelit 0 Posted April 29, 2007 I had to lose 10% of the post op weight for my insurance to approve the procedure. It helped me get a clear idea of portion size and "good" food choices. I was banded on April 3 and since I started this I lost my 13 lbs pre-surgery, by the time I had my surgery scheduled I was down 20 and total weight loss now is 33.5 lbs. I very happy with my decision to have this procedure done and am looking forward to being a size 10 again. The surgery was a breeze and recovery was great. Nothing out of the ordinary except the left shoulder pain. My Dr. even fixed my hernia while he was in there. No more acid reflux yeah. :clap2:
Mr. Yoda 0 Posted April 30, 2007 I too am on the Pre-op diet of Bacteria laced milk and it's by-products. it is a little slice of hell  but I am getting by. Today I had to make 1020 pieces of southern fried chicken, :hungry:it was so yummy :heh: .... As I watched everyone else enjoy it over my bowl of Cottage cheese. :tired But thems the breaks.. I just keep my eye on the goal and my mouth shut to the temptations.:tape: I have 3 days left before I go under the knife on the 4th. I am looking forward to it as I will finally be rid of the Y&CC. It will not beat me!!!:yield: VIVA LA RÉSISTANCE
joe7777 1 Posted April 30, 2007 Hey, day 7 here....I'm seeing lots of posts about pickles being lifesavers during the pre-op diet. I have some, i looked at the label, barely any carbs, no fat....i think i might have some.

badonkadonkbutt 1 Posted May 1, 2007 I am dying here.....I am still a few months out from surgery but have to lose for my insurance. Yesterday we had a retirement party at work (cake) and an ice cream social at my daughters school (more crap to eat). Already this morning I feel out of control and craving sugar. If I can just get back on track today, I will be okay again. It is the weekends that are killing me. I need a better tactic for them....

Hi LeeAnn, I would try to stay away from those simple carbs like sugar - they are the kiss of death both because of the weight you gain but more because of their addicitive qualities. You will find staying on track much easier if you just avoid them altogether. Keep your goal in mind and charge!!! Good luck!

Donna D 1 Posted May 1, 2007 You guys probably won't see each other at TLBC. You exit from the back way. Whoever is waiting for you will meet the others. When you are ready to go they will either have your friend or whoever come in to get you and go out the back. I did see one lady who had her surgery at 9 am and she was leaving at 12:30 while I was in the waiting room but I don't know who she was. I think you are so groggy after you may not remember.
