Just feel like I didn't have surgery!

I'm not hungry until I see food and then when I drink my liquids I don't get that OMG I so full feeling. That's why I feel like I'm not loosing fast enough.

I'm feeling the same way. I had surgery on the 8th of July and I'm also only down 10lbs from my surgery weight. And the past 3 days, I've weighed the same. :( I've not yet experienced the "full" feeling yet. Satisfied, but not full. I too was expecting a bigger loss by this point... I'm sure it's just our crazy bodies trying to figure out ask out. Not happy about it, but not going to beat myself up over it either. It's a good start to something great!

I too had surgery July 8. I have lost 12 pounds since surgery. I think you are right were you are supposed to be. Are you getting in 64 oz. of liquids each day? I definitely am not. I try the hardest I can but it just is not happening. I am also struggling with getting in my Protein. This is way harder than I thought it would be, but I am still happy to be on the journey.

Having no problem with water!

Still on pure liquids!

I did try some eggs last night and puked my brains out! That an other thing! Puking is not easy! It don't come up! Just heaves! So I guess I'll have to wait until the 29th with some real food and take it one day at a time :)

I think it varies so much how quickly/slowly/erratically people lose. People with more to lose may lose faster in the beginning but I also have a friend who just had surgery that is much heavier than I am and I lost faster than her in the first two weeks. I'm a relative lightweight but my loss after those first two weeks has averaged about 2 pounds a week. Slower than I'd like but it's going the right way and I can manage my eating, something I've never been able to do before.

Don't set yourself up for disappointment by comparing yourselves to others. If you're very concerned that the weight loss is too slow (10 pounds in 2 weeks is not slow) talk to your doctor. My doctor probably thought I was disappointed in my weight loss because when I went in for my 1 month appointment he said 'if you had come in here at 300-400 pounds, I would have expected a 50 pound weight loss... 22 pounds is more than 10% of your total body weight -- that is GREAT!"

Try to avoid comparing yourself to others and know that the scale will keep moving if you keep to the plan -- food and exercise.

I'm about ten days out now and have lost about 13 lbs from my pre surgery weight. But, remember all those fluids that they pumped into you? Yeah, I gained 20lbs from that. My suggestion is keep your head up, do your best, and remember that a minus is always good! Also, yesterday I was only able to get a few shakes in (2 oz each) to the tube of about 128 calories. That worries me that my body might think I'm starving and start to hold on to everything. I'm also barely clearing 30 oz Water. It's hard, but I will keep trying. Because I have hope!!! I hope you find your comfort!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
