LighterZone41 1 Posted July 21, 2014 Congratulations on your weightloss everyone! I had my surgery July 11, in Tijuana Mexico. Was a little scared, but a friend had gone a couple of years ago and had fabulous results, so I bit the bullet and did it. So glad I did! I was 255 the day I started my pre-op diet, I was 242 day of surgery, and today I am 229! I am so excited. I am on the full liquid diet until thursday, then I start the pureed diet. I am still hungry, I think. It may be all in my head though. I do fine when noone around me is eating, but as soon as I get around family and they are enjoying their meals I am like a mad person. I have cheated, one bite of a chicken leg, one bite of some cheese bread, and about 1/2 a teaspoon of peach cobbler - not all in one day. The chicken was the hardest on me, I felt it go down very slowly, felt nausous and swore I would never cheat again. Of course I did. Anyone else putting their lives on the line for just one bite? Why do we do this to ourselves? I beat myself up over it then drink my Soup or Protein Shake. Anyone having issues with gas? I have never been a gassy person, but now it seems like I get gas just by drinking Water. I can't wait to see where we are this time next year. Good luck everyone! 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted July 21, 2014 I've read that, to get rid of the gas they put in you in order to do the surgery, walking helps the most. For regular intestinal gas, Gas-X Strips work. 1 LighterZone41 reacted to this
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted July 21, 2014 If you are having trouble not indulging, to the point where you think you might hurt yourself, I recommend therapy and/or a book that helped me: Emotional First + Aide by Cynthia Alexander (the bariatric surgery one). Hope this helps!
AllisonKara 46 Posted July 21, 2014 It is too early into the surgery and you have to be careful with the diet and its changes.I can really understand your conditions so try and stick to the diet recommended by the doctor. As for your gastric problem,it will go away with time.Do take up walking and follow other small movements that are allowed.
