Hi everyone I really like this app. I just got my sleeve July 16 and looking forward to share my journey and read others experiences. I am still on liquid diet and feel good. Haven't really felt hungry only in the morning but have to drink my Proteins and drink so I can stay hydrated. I look forward in meeting new people. I live in Las Vegas.

Hi Chris I really haven't had any pain from my incisions only the air was really painful the day of the surgery. I am starting to feel that the incisions are starting to itch but other than that doing well. Just soreness here and there. How are you doing?

Welcome lovingdavid. Chrisrn, I was sleeved 7/8 and still have pain. I take tylenol at night to sleep. Can't sleep on my side or laying down. Still sleeping propped up with 4 pillows. Lovingdavid, keep up with your fluids so you don't get dehydrated. Been there, done that. We are moving to Las Vegas this fall.

Hi guys. I was sleeved 7/14, mostly am pain free but sometimes i do have some pain from the left side where most of the incisions were. I picked up bronchitis in theh ospital and that has been making things interesting but otherwise the surgery went smoothly and its just hanging in here on the liquid diet that's tough. I had an aha moment today and went out and got some chinese take-out -- egg drop Soup -- and was surprised and pleased when my order total was $1.42. I don't remember the last time I paid so little for something was.

Hi everyone, I was sleeved on 7-16. I had horrible pain for 3 days and now it's tolerable. I don't mind the liquid diet. I'm doing good with that, even started walking. I take Tylenol at night for soreness. I'm able to sleep on my side. So far, so good.

Fit2015 glad you are doing better.. I started walking a little after surgery but of course had the pain on my chest. Going away and I also sleep

On my sides. I couldn't sleep at all at the hospital but here at home it's much better with the help of pillows ;)

I was sleeved on 7/18. Still in some pain but better than Saturday. The gas is a problem though. When I sip my fluids, feels like a ball in my chest. Very uncomfortable feeling. Makes me not want to drink, but I know I have to. My surgeon only allows 4 ounces every hour and I'm struggling to get that in. My bed that I used to love is now the enemy. Just can't get comfortable. Wish I had a recliner.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
