BeagleLover 1,020 Posted July 20, 2014 I saw a segment on TV, "The Doctors," about a laser to tighten the skin on the thighs.
WhoKnows 288 Posted July 20, 2014 And what did "The Doctors" conclude?
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted July 20, 2014 A woman was lying face down on the table & this laser light went up and down her thighs. Guess it worked, but you really couldn't see anything. I did take notes, because maybe that looked less invasive than a thigh lift: 5/2/14 The Doctors Melt Off cellulite Dr. Thomas Barnes, cosmetic surgeon, FAACS FDA approved & reduction of size of hips, waist. The Vershu by Erconia Lasers Green light goes into the dermis, creating an opening for the fat to come out. Treatments: 15 minutes – 1 – 2x/week, up to 6 weeks Cost: $100 - $200 per treatment
Kissifur 244 Posted July 20, 2014 This sounds interesting. Hopefully it's not another "magic pill" to pray on the vulnerable.
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted July 20, 2014 I can't answer that... I'd wait until it's been out for awhile and look for scientific reviews on efficacy.
WhoKnows 288 Posted July 20, 2014 Yeah, I'm skeptical...
Oak Park Lorena 162 Posted November 12, 2014 I'm not sure what you're referring to, there is something called Venus Freeze that employs radio frequency waves to stimulate the production of collagen which then results in tighter skin. I've had it done on my face and neck. There is empirical data that supports its use, but I can tell you that while I am happy with the results, it works best on skin that is only slightly loose, it would likely have very little effect on the very loose or saggy skin a lot of us have on our arms, tummies and thighs. In my area, it costs about 1500-3000 per area depending on the size of the area--that includes multiple treatments. HAs anyone done the ultrasound skin tightening treatments? Considering it.
