altitude with band?

Recommended Posts

I had a fill over a month ago. Went on a trip to a high altitude and have not been able to eat much ever since. Does anyone know if altitude can cause issues. I can't even eat a half cup of food right now. Ugh...

I have heard people say that flying can temporarily tighten the band, however, I fly all the time due to my job and I've never noticed any difference.

I've been watching a vlog by an individual by the name of bandedwendy. She apparently moved to a location with that is located in a higher altitude and seems to have experienced so issues with the higher altitude and trouble with flying. Please see the following tube link about 2:55 into the video.

I fly all the time also, and I actually do notice. I take it easy the day of flight and the day after. It's one of those times to say, do what your band says, don't fight it! :-) it will win ! Lol!

yup, higher altitude also made my band feel tight. went to a destination with corrected alt was almost 7000 feet. for a week I ate real slow.

Wow, just goes to show we're all different, I travel on around 20 long distance flights each year and have never noticed a thing. Anyway, my band is coming out in 3 weeks and I'm getting sleeved, so I won't have to worry about that in the future :-)

Hi! In relation to altitude, I experience a tightening each time I fly or go into the mountains to ski. Usually lasts about 4-5 days. Last April I was a little concerned as it took my appetite away completely and I ended up buying Protein Meal Replacements just to get energy in me to ski. On the positive side, I have been told that this is like the band should work when properly adjusted. I'm a year banded and yesterday had a .25 fill. Still not at all like it felt at altitude but getting there. I guess what I'm saying is somewhere between the 'altitude' feeling and where I am now would be healthy. I'm not advocating that the band should restrict you so you can't eat/ drink. That's foolish.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
