Hello,

I had Dr. Suh at inland Valley. I wanted Loma Linda in Murrieta as well but HMO approved Inland Valley and I had a good experience. The nurses were kind, gentle and caring and I spent just the estimated 2 nights so things went well.

Every single person at Inland Valley hospital had something good to say about Dr. Suh, from the volunteer who checked me in to the surgery prep nurses, anesthesiologist, Dietician, etc. that made a very favorable impression on me. One of the nurses, said he would be the only surgeon she would consider for herself or her family if they needed a laparoscopic operation of any type. He may not be the most charming guy in the world with his patients but I really couldn't care less about that...his reputation as a surgeon is far more important.

He has a strict post op eating plan including NO deserts, chips, soda ever again in your life.

He requires attendance at support group and I like the one on Wednesdays at Loma Linda but there are several choices.

My insurance was Health Net HMO with Inland Valley doctors group and it was approved in less than 5 days.

Dr Belzberg- at Kaiser South Bay, I love in Corona.

Revising from a band to sleeve due to complications.

Amazing dr, Kaiser has been awesome.

I have only been insured with them for 2 months and no issue switching it out!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
