bulawookie 116 Posted July 19, 2014 Hey everyone, I just wanted to tell you all that I can finally cross my legs!! It is a victory since my surgery and about a 23 pound weight loss. I use it to keep me motivated. I am dealing with hunger issues, real hunger versus mind hunger, but am dealing with it. Crossing my legs feels so good. My face looks thinner too. I am looking for all the little motivators I can find. 8 kayzoog, pink dahlia, kah1213 and 5 others reacted to this

Bandista 7,466 Posted July 19, 2014 Nice NSV! These non-scale victories are really where it's at. I haven't really lost in a couple of few weeks. What does that mean? My pants are starting to get really loose. I have gone from 18 to 16 to 14 to 12 in the same kind of jeans. Now I am looking at 10? OMG! So who cares what the scale says..... it wil go down, I know the pattern now. First the loose pants or other NSV then the new number. You are doing great! 2 kayzoog and MammaJamma42 reacted to this
Ldimples 73 Posted July 20, 2014 My name is Lisa and I am just starting my lap band journey. I must admit this decision is a little scary for me. I am having a hard time understanding how you can survive on 3 ounces of food per meal. Is it the way that I think about food? Which is years of training from childhood. I am trying to get to the core reason why I am so scared, and I keep coming back to the 3 ounces of food. I know something must change I am 5feet, 200 pounds, and 48 years old and I have tried everything. How did you get past the way we think about food. Maybe you're not hungry, but do you crave the things that were so use to eating Thanks for listening. 1 DanaKat reacted to this
pink dahlia 2,513 Posted July 20, 2014 Bulwookie, congrats on your NSV !! Way to go ! It's the little things that happen that really make you think " wow ! This is really working !!" Great job !!! Lisa, you get by on 3 oz or whatever the amount is because thats all your stomach can hold ! I bet if I asked you how many ounces your dinner was tonight, I bet you could'nt give me the correct amount, but you ate until you were full, right ? Lap band works the same way. I was banded 2 yrs ago, the rules were so easy to follow, and im very happy with my weight loss! Id do it again in a heartbeat ! Best decision ever ! I occasionly think of 2-3 foods that Id like to have, but I dont miss them when I think of my healthy , happy, strong body ! Good luck ! Go for it ! 1 MammaJamma42 reacted to this
NolansNana 210 Posted July 21, 2014 Congratulations bullwookie!!! Feels awesome I'm sure! You go girl! Lisa I had major doubt's also. I thought, how in the world can a person live that way! I've learned that we consume way more calories in a day than we realize. I have more energy now than I've had it a very long time! High Protein, low sugar, and good food choices really makes a difference. 1 MammaJamma42 reacted to this

Ldimples 73 Posted November 16, 2014 My surgery is on Nov 19th, all of you have really helped me know what to expect. I am almost there, 3 more days. ???? A little scared but you all help me not to let the unknown paralyze me with fear. Thank you.
funky_monkey800 247 Posted November 25, 2014 Great post everyone! Congrats on all these milestones! I was banded in october and thought the same about being able to survive on so little....the first thing i noticed was how much i used to eat! No wonder i was gaining weight! I also noticed i have to listen to my body more. My weight loss has been slow recently, but i have noticed jeans are definitely a size too big! @@Ldimples keep us updated on your surgery! Good luck everyone!
