Question about feeling "full"

Recommended Posts

Mind you I am 2 years out and asking this question - duh???

When I take a bite of something I get a "stopped/stuck" feeling and if I take a drink or I can literally feel it go down. That initial feeling I get is that restriction?? Am I supposed to stop there? Almost always even without a sip of Water I chew and chew, swallow, it stops for a moment and then I can feel it go through - do I keep eating?

Please explain and help!

I was getting that at about 6 months out and my doc said it was first bite syndrome. I thought I needed a slight unfill but he said I didn't and sure enough he was right. He told me to try something hot first, like a sip of coffee, or hot chocolate or Soup and then it goes down fine. I am very tight right now after my fill about a month ago and like everyone else of course I have more trouble getting down meat than chips but I just have to keep up with my calories so that I don't eat the bad stuff. I still sometimes get that, I mean one bite and it feels like I'm going to get stuck and pb but if I ever take even a sip with my meal, I'll pb for sure. I can't even look at a drink while I'm eating, lol.

Hope this helps you some.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
