tracy6914 13 Posted July 19, 2014 Surgery was Wednesday about 12:45 pm. That nite at 10 pm I was up walking and sat in a chair. Thursday I walked off and on slept a lot pain was pretty bad but mostly sore. Friday had to go drink contrast milky stuff worse thing so far ! Sat in X-ray from 8:30 am til 2 pm with very little movement. Back to X-ray at 7 pm. Then over nite was horrible I was sick vomiting which is not what your dr wants to say the least. Saturday has been a lot better. Still off to X-ray every 8 hrs but it's moving just very slowly. I did get ice chips thou best ice chips ever !! So now I still have no clue when I'll get to go home. But I'm feeling better by the hour. Dr ordered me a shot of Toradol which has helped tremendously. Still have my pain pump but haven't needed it today at all. I'm a work in progress and I'm excited !! 3 terrydumont46, BeagleLover and finediva reacted to this

mentalistfan 189 Posted July 20, 2014 Why are you going to x-ray every eight hours?

dsdesigna 143 Posted July 20, 2014 Curious how each surgeon does things differently. I didn't have to do any of that, not even once, even though I was told that I would. Perhaps they did it when I was still drugged with anesthesia and I just don't remember it. There is a huge chunk of time that I was apparently communicating with people but I just don't remember. Glad you are doing ok. I am 12 days post op and although it does get better, it's still an uphill climb. 2 BeagleLover and tracy6914 reacted to this
tracy6914 13 Posted July 21, 2014 I'm still in the hospital because my digestion has been very slow. After drinking the stuff for X-ray I still had a lot in my stomach 24 hrs later and vomited a couple times. Since about 1 pm yesterday I've drank 45 ounces if Water and 6 ounces of coffee. Hoping to go home today I'm ready. 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
iammomof3 38 Posted July 21, 2014 I just got home Saturday. I didn't think I would need the Percocet so I waited too long and it was difficult to get my pain under control. Feeling stronger every day! The contrast for the swallow test was disgusting! Best of luck for a speedy recovery. 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
Postop 411 Posted July 21, 2014 Sorry to hear how rough it's been. I remember the contrast and having the test. It was kind of gross. Hope you're feeling better soon. 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
tracy6914 13 Posted July 24, 2014 I'm home now and doing good. My incision around my belly button had to be reopened and has to be packed twice a day. So this is the only thing slowing my recovery. I had an umbilical hernia repair so the incision was larger than normal. My weight is why I had it. So I'm drinking great had vanilla Protein in coffee this morning it was great. Hope everyone else is doing good. 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
