How i will celebrate/reward myself

Recommended Posts

Would like to reward myself for milestones I hit along the way. Of course restaurants won't work. And clothing isn't a good idea since I don't know where I will end up. I already have piles of purses and books, and I can't afford to travel.

I am a knitter but never wanted to knit for myself. So that is my plan- find a great sweater pattern and splurge on some beautiful yarn. Even though I just started this journey I'm gonna start looking at patterns soon. ( I'm not exactly a speed knitter.)

I swear, it seems like the weight loss itself will be reward enough for me. I have enough clothes to fit me until I hit the last 20 pounds. At that point, I may go a little indulgent.

I'm weird and I buy new gym clothes since I spend so much time in the gym. Right now I'm thinking I need to reward myself with a bigger backpack since I drag so much stuff to and from it. LOL!

I plan to treat myself to a professional hair dye service when I reach 100 lbs lost. I am a 30 year home dyer, and it would be nice to get it done by a pro for once. Other planned treats for goals include mani-pedi treatments and spa days.

I've done jewelry (small stuff--earrings or a bangle) mani/pedi, running shoes, yoga mat...I think a massage next!

Saving the tattoo for GOAL! Getting close...down 110 today looking for another 16. Thinking about a butterfly but not sure where I will put it yet.

I plan to reward myself as I hit milestones with short weekend getaways. I look forward to being able to walk around and explore new places on foot, something I have struggled with as the weight increased. The day I hit my final goal, I'll be on the computer, booking a flight (maybe to Hawaii) and rejoicing in the fact that I won't be worried about fitting into the airplane seat, or making the person next to me uncomfortable! I passed up a trip to S. Korea this year, too afraid I wouldn't fit comfortably. Never again!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
