This is random but do the ports every show after weight loss? And if so how often does this occur?

Yes when you lose enough belly fat the port will probably show. I was banded years ago and got really thin and my port showed. It even showed through a bathing suit and people would ask. I avoided the questions. Then I started to date and was really self-conscience of the port sticking out. I eventually got the band out but gained all the weight back. Now I am recently banded again but have a new positive outlook on the band. I have not lost much weight, now at 163 pounds, and my port is slightly showing. I am prepared for people's questions and I will now proudly say I have the band. I will be thin again and this port is going to show even more. I am ready to tell anyone that I have a lap band. I know what it is like without the band and that life was miserable. We are all brave to get banded so I hope you learn to accept the port showing as a sign of your bravery. I have read that not all people's port's show as much as my first one did. My first port was just under my breast's and as I said it stuck out like a broken rib. Now my port is just above my belly button where I will retain more body fat. I hope this helps with your post.

I lost 170lbs and my port shows through tight clothes. I'm having a TT in a month and I'm having my port moved it's still sore after a yr as it feels like it's knocking off my ribs. It does bother me that it's visible but not as much as weighing 350lb bothered me.

Thanks for the answers. It had never crossed my mind until today. And it really isn't that big of a deal. It also never occurred that the port could be moved.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
