I was sleeved on June 30th. Monday I experienced my first kidney stone. That was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. Not sure how I got one, but I have read that you are more likely to get them after this type of surgery. Probably with change in diet, and not drinking enough Water. So please make sure you drink plenty of water so this does not happen to you. Please let me know if anyone has had or can explain why I got one.

It probably has more to do with your old diet than anything. Soda and antacids(Tums, Rolaids) will do it to ya

I had a kidney stone at age 18 with terrible surgery, and never another one. No one could tell me why I got one. I know more men than women who have had stones. Not sure it was from the sleeve. Thank God for laser surgery on them today, but it is the worst pain on earth.

A male friend of mine got kidney stones several times (4 that I know of) They finally figured out it was all the Gatorade and other sports drinks he was consuming. He hasn't had a single one since switching to plain Water.< /p>

Actigall or Ursodiol is commonly prescribed in the US post gastric sleeve for those with a gall bladder. Usually recommended for 6 months. Not sure if any Mexico surgeons prescribe it

I don't think these do anything for kidney stones

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
