Angel❤️ 45 Posted July 18, 2014 Anyone using non-isolate Protein Shakes or supplements successfully? I find I really don't like any of the Protein isolate powders/drinks, to the point it's hindering me getting my Liquid Protein in, and frankly getting expensive to keep trying new ones. I love the Atkins shakes but they are not protein 'isolate'. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Beckyyb93 225 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) Did you check out Vitalady? I think I posted a link in your other thread but she has samples of like 40 different Protein powders for $2,99 each with $5 shipping so you can try everything before you buy it..way cheaper than buying a bunch of tubs and sending them back. I do really well with the Syntrax nectar for sweet shakes and Isopure unflavored to put in other foods, not as bad of an aftertaste as unjury. Good luck, you'll find something you like if you keep trying!! Here's the link again to the samples: http://www.vitalady.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?search=action&keywords=protsamp&SortKey=sku&SortOrder=ascending Also, here's a link to a post that rates Protein powder, Vitalady carries samples of lots of Protein on the excellent list so that's a great place to start http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/181262-rating-protein-powders/ BTW: I don't work for her or get anything out of recommending her products, I've just never found such a large variety of samples from one place which is more efficient so I try to share it with others who are having trouble finding protein they can tolerate! jaifra78 4 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) you can order some samples from Nashua Nutrition they are 1.95 each plus shipping and there are a ton to chose http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-powders/protein-powder-samples-1-serving.html saves you from buying a big tub of something you don't like, been there done that. when you find one you like buy it from Vitamin shoppe or vitacost they are the cheapest btw you don't have to have Protein isolate you can get Protein concentrate or a blend of both. Its just that the isolate digests a little better but not much. also unjury is the least protein tasting, the chocolate splendor is so good all the other Unjury flavors are good too you can get samples from them also http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/unjury-protein/unjury-protein-samples.html they even have a chicken Soup flavored one. prettylittlefitblr 4 Posted July 19, 2014 I can't tolerate those shakes at all, flavor or texture. Have you tried Protein Bars?
Beckyyb93 225 Posted July 19, 2014 I can't tolerate those shakes at all, flavor or texture. Have you tried Protein bars? I think she is only 10-11 days out so most likely she won't be able to tolerate bars yet but eventually they are good if you can get them down. They were a bit dry for me post-sleeve so I had trouble with them. You can go to Walmart and buy Atkins shakes or even slimfast light..they taste a little better to some folks and are pre-made so great on the go.
