I had my surgery yesterday morning. My calves started aching yesterday night, and still are. Is this common? I'm walking a fair amount, and have been doing Lovenox injections to help with DVT, so I don't really think it's a clot, especially since it's in both legs. Any advice or experiences with this? I'm planning on calling my surgeons office tomorrow morning.

@@redhead87 there could be many reasons for the tightness in your calves, but why wait until tomorrow morning to give the doctor a call?

If you have a concern and you are not feeling right, give them a call now. It's just a phone call and at the least it will help to calm any fears you have and at the worst it can save your life so please don't wait give them a call and ask their advice.

Feel well and please let us know how you are doing.

I called this morning as soon as the office opened. I didn't call last night because it was 10pm and I don't know if they have an on-call service. But I talked to the nurse this morning, who talked to the surgeon. He suggested chewing some tums and making sure I was getting electrolytes, and they'll check back with me in a few hours.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
