4everbeautiful 61 Posted July 17, 2014 Hello All, I am sharing my story hoping it will help someone. I began researching the success stories of the "sleeve" over two years ago. Both my husband and I began going to a program to prepare ourselves for the "new life", but that particular program/people weren't as pleasant and caring (should say "sympathetic") as we felt they should be as clinicians. Therefore, I/we stopped going. Frustrated of not knowing where to go and who else to turn to...became more frustrating. Trying to make this looooonnngg story short...one day I finally had enough!! I was in so much pain in my body from osteoarthritis that I called an made an immediate appointment with my doctor. Tears streaming down my face, repeating "I cannot take this anymore"!! Immediately my doctor gave me a referral to WLC (weight lose clinic) and I am ever so grateful!!! This journey started approx. 6 months ago. I thought that after my 1st visit with the WL doctor that I was able to have my surgery 2 weeks from that point (don't ask me why I thought that ). Any who, it was the best decision. Because of my arthritis/high blood pressure/acid reflux and some other issues..I was OVER DUE to have this procedure. Well, now both my husband and I will be having our procedures (me first of course and him 4/5 months from now. I am having the sleeve and he is having the gastric bypass. Insurance has approved my surgery!!! My surgery date is on July 30, 2014 at 10:50am!!! We both would like to hang around for quit some time more for our three teenagers (two boys/one girl) ages 15,17 and 19 years of age. Married for 21 years!!! Love him to pieces! So, why not go the rest of this journey together. I chose to share this procedure with just you all/my parents and children. I feel this is a personal decision for each and every one of us. I am in no way ashamed of what changes that will take place...I just will state that I am on a strict diet! Truth, right? Well, people you have been patient enough to read thus far, so I think I will end my journal on this note. "Be proud and understanding of your self always" Thank you
