RobinL 0 Posted April 26, 2007 Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be here, and to be on the other side of this surgery. I was banded on 4/18/07 and I've lost 24 lbs total. (about 12 of that was during my pre-surgery diet.) I'm feeling better everyday and my incisions are healing nicely. But I need to ask some of your opinions on something. I'm still hungry. I eat until I THINK I should stop. I'm not really sure if I'm feeling full. Is this suppose to be a definite feeling? Usually it's around a 1/2 cup full of Soup. When I stop eating, in my mind, I feel like I could eat more, but I don't because I know I shouldn't. Then about an hour later, I'm starving again. Sometimes, I just think the "hunger" is in my mind. But my stomach continues to growl and make horrible noises. Maybe my band isn't tight enough, or maybe it's still new and I need to get used to eating in smaller quantities. Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!
Devana 0 Posted April 27, 2007 Hi Robin. I'm glad you found us. Usually once the initial swelling goes down many people find that they feel very little restriction. It's only after a fill or fills that you reach the "sweet spot". IMO I think it's still good to stick to the 1/2 cup rule, even if you can handle more. It's part of getting into the bandster rules habit. Try drinking more Water when you feel hungry between meals. It works for me. Good luck!
