Okay so I am not complaining because I could not be happier about my weight loss journey however, I believe my band may be getting a little to tight during weight loss, I have not had a fill in 6 months. I am hoping to hear from some of you that may have gone/or are going through this. Most of the time I can hardly anything. I try to make my self eat because I know that I have to, I have tried several different food items and nothing really goes down very well other than Soups and malt-o-meal. I am a little paranoid that something might be wrong and I am not reading the signs. I do hiccup a lot during meals and I burp up mucus/saliva. I called my doctors office to speak to the nurse to see if maybe I need a slight unfill but I am afraid of not being in the green zone. I am hoping this is a normal part of being in the green zone and need to get used to it. ? Thanks for the input ahead of time. :-)

You said nothing goes down well but Soup and such doesn't sound like the green zone but a slight overfill. They should be able to take a teensy amount out so you can get some Protein in. We are suppose to be loosing weight but also need nutrition.

i think it is common to want to be tight but that doesn't sound right to only get liquids in. Preserve your health, Vitamins and muscles and let them get you into a truer green zone.

Good luck to you!

Colleen

I should have been a little more clear I can eat chicken, pastas, Beans, etc.. however it does come with a price typically I don't feel very well after eating very fatigued sometimes I am burping up alot that mucus stuff. I don't believe that this is quite right though. The scary thing is a lot of what goes down without any pain is junk food.< /p>

@@SkinnyHereICome Before going in to take Fluid out of the band I would question your eating mechanics. The first thing I would do is to give your band a day or two to rest. Go back to your liquid diet for a day and let it rest to heal from any swelling you might have from food being brought back up.

Then I would introduce solid foods slowly, and really watch what your eating mechanics are.

Are you cutting the bites small enough?

Are you chewing them well enough before swallowing the bite?

Are you letting the bite clear the band before taking the next bite?

If you are doing all these things and you are till having an issue with sliming and food coming back up or getting stuck then you should go in and have a small amount of Fluid taken out.

Call your Dr. and let them know what's going on sometimes we just need a tiny bit of fluid removed. .5-1cc can make all the difference and keep you in the green part of the green zone rather than closer to the red zone.

@ lisacaron, thank you so much. I think that is the best advise I have received in a while, I will start liquid tomorrow and see how it goes. It makes sense what you said about mechanics I do tend to not pay attention to the size of bites I am taking and how fast I am eating. I am embarrassed to say this but I go to restaurants a lot with family and friends and I swear everyone looks at me like a crazy person due to the lack of food I eat. I try to eat at a normal persons pace and it just doesn't work for me. Nobody knows about my lapband other than my husband.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
