behrat 12 Posted July 17, 2014 Hi all....I've been steadliy losing weight and I'm down 70 pounds. I've been more active then ever and it feels great! However, I weighed myself a few times this week and I'm actually up 2 pounds this week. What is up with that?!?? How do I keep going and not get discouraged?? Domika03 309 Posted July 17, 2014 First of all, congrats on your weight loss! Please don't get discouraged. Could be anything from Water weight to building muscle. We're going to fluctuate up & down a few pounds all the time. I know it's frustrating, but things will start moving again. Stay focused You're doing all the right things & your body appreciates it 2 ProudGrammy and maxcimax reacted to this
BitterSweet* 835 Posted July 17, 2014 Easy. Part with your scale. If you are doing everything you're supposed to do, the scale will be your friend only when it reflects something you want to see. When it doesn't, it alters your mood and can make you feel as though you're wasting your time. I just would't get on it. Use clothing a size smaller as a measure of progress. Best wishes. 3 blondebomb, ProudGrammy and SOVANNA reacted to this
erp 2,016 Posted July 17, 2014 I find the lower my weight goes the more I see fluctuations due to hormones. I'm sure I have always retained Water and bloated the weeks before and during my menstrual cycle but I never weighted myself as much as I do now or labored over every pound. When I was over 250 and the scale bounced up a few pounds, I couldn't see it or feel it, now a few lbs means my pants might not fit that week. As long as you know you are eating right and saying active, there's probably not much to worry about. You may also try tracking it to see if there is a pattern like I experience. 1 Pookeyism reacted to this
Ginger Snaps 1,323 Posted July 17, 2014 You make the decision to keep going and not be discouraged. If you're following the food and exercise plans and keep working it, the weight will respond. It's a big mental game but the part you have control over is what you put in your mouth and how much you move your body. Not the number on the scale. Here's hoping you continue having great success. 1 blondebomb reacted to this
