Hit a stall 3 wks out. GRRRRR!

Recommended Posts

I have been in a stall for the past 5 days, which i know isn't too long but it's getting me frustrated. 3 wks post op, i'm now on softs/puree and wondering if i am eating TOO much, although it seems like not even close to what my nut's guidelines show.

today i'm going to start weighing and measuring EVERYTHING (i was just going by teaspoon or tablespoon up to now) and tracking like crazy. hopefully that will help. i was told to not become obsessive about measuring, and to eat for comfort and such, but i just want to make sure nothing is skewed in my eating. also going to try and increase my Water.

i know stalls are normal, but i really wanted to hit ONE-derland before i stalled, and only have 3 lbs to go until then! super frustrated.

Hang in there!!!! 5 days is not a stall, so don't get hung up on that. Be patient. Hold the vision and trust the process. Best wishes!

The three-week stall sucks. Especially after how fast the weight seemed to fall off those first two weeks.

I've had two stalls so far, and each lasted maybe 6-8 days? Not fun, but just stay the course and the weight will start falling again in no time.

I hear you. I was three weeks post op as of Monday and I've been at the same weight for one week.

I'm weighing and measuring nad documenting everything I eat and I'm almost always between 400-500 calories a day yet no weight loss. My Protein is 60-80g a day and I'm drinking between 50-64oz of Water a day. I'm hoping that when my doc releases me to go to the gym at the end of the week that'll help SOMETHING.

I'll hang in there and you do too!

So close to ONEderland. :) Congrats. Mine is 5 lbs away today. Stalls are no fun. I hit my first mini stall about a week and 1/2 ago. stayed the same weight for about 6 days and then lost 4 the following week.

3weeks post op and I gained a pound!!! Was wondering if its bc my BM diminished when I went to pureed. Lost 11lbs the first week and 11lbs the second week. Must not be drinking enough Water or eating through the surgery. So frustrating and disappointed in myself. Know I have ro exercise more.

If it makes you feel any better, I have been stalling for 2 weeks now and I am 3.5 months out. And I am obsessed with the scale and can't stop checking every day. And I have also started to work out a few weeks ago. I have stopped fretting and now focusing on my intake. I have been on an 800-900 calorie diet since surgery and now I just make sure I have at least one Protein Shake a day no matter what. But I have lost 50 lbs, went from 210-160. So I am happy but want to lose more. Just have to be patient and change up the foods.

Hello, I stopped here since I am three weeks post op and stalled as well. Reading above is this appears to be common. Not that we are all not disappointed, I do have to state that I did find some comfort in seeing that I am not alone. Thank you all who shared before so that I feel normal...lol.

I am so glad I sound this thread. I'm 3 weeks out and in a major stall. All the Dr.'s office told me was to put away my scale and weigh no more than once a week. I did that to no avail. Still no change. I'm glad I could find comfort in these posts. Hopefully this won't last long! Thanks everyone!!!

I am also 3 weeks out and have stalled. I measure all my food out, get all my Protein in and drink more than 64 oz of Water a day. I either briskly walk 3.5 to 4 miles a day or bike almost 10 miles. I hope this ends soon, I enjoyed my twenty pound weight loss the first 2 weeks. I really hope this ends soon. I am so frustrated.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
